Participation of Cyprus Ports Authority in an online workshop on the ports of the future within the framework of the European PortAbility program

Cyprus Ports Authority participated on 9 January 2026 in an online workshop focusing on future port development scenarios up to 2045. The workshop was held within the framework of the European PortAbility programme, in which the Authority participates.
During the workshop, three alternative development scenarios were presented:
  • the Autonomous Port, with an emphasis on green energy and artificial intelligence;
  • the Port as an Experience, highlighting culture, tourism, and the creative economy; and
  • the Adaptive Port, which prioritizes climate resilience.
The workshop focused on the presentation and discussion of scenarios for the future of the Port of Hamburg with a 2045 horizon, examining trends affecting European ports, such as digitalization and automation, energy transition, resilience to climate change, social inclusion, and the transformation of work.
